We grew up Catholic and we, we did. We went to mass every single weekend and actually grew up in a Catholic school, but I had never heard the word ministry. And I remember Googling that, um, I can still see the image, um, online that talked about giving the first fruits of the business to ministries. And I remember seeing a picture of people praying.
And, uh, That was so different to me. Either way, it was a PR job. I needed a PR job. Andrew had proposed to me and moved to Lubbock two days later. So I knew I was now going to [00:01:00] build a life with Andrew and Lubbock. Uh, I, I came back to the Lord in May of 2007 on a Beaton Bow vision trip. And since then having our kiddos, you know, I have really made every effort to introduce them.
To the Lord that loves them and cares for them, you know, I grew up in a hellfire and brimstone kind of culture. And so this Loving God and experiencing that feeling that from people was something I really hadn’t felt before And so I wanted to make sure that my kids knew about that. Not just that we were at church.
I was going to church every, every weekend. Um, but I wanted them to know that there’s a God that loves them and cares for them and that created them and that they are so gifted in things. Um, those are things I felt here is empowered. You know, I’ve never felt like a project. I think that’s important to me.
That the people I lead, the people I care for, never felt like a project, you know. Um, [00:02:00] I’m not trying to change people. I’m just trying to be a changed people. Um, and that is my heart. And so, um, I have actually led that way at home. So a part of my story is lots of prayer, um, and consideration for my husband.
Um, who, uh, as recently as April, I got to tell a Kingdom at Work group. Um, that, you know, my kids know the Lord. Uh, I have kids that pray every single evening. I have a three year old that always says, um, mom, can we do Jesus God? Amen. And oftentimes we’re praying for dad and we’re praying that dad would know Jesus and know the Lord.
Um, and when my daughter was three months old, the Lord gave me a vision, um, that my husband would be baptized with her. And I had never told him that ever. And I told the kingdom at work group that in April. And I had really held strong to that vision. And God told me in my timing, this will happen. And it’s not for you to do, it is not your work, it is my [00:03:00] work.
Um, just like, all you have to do is show up. You just need to make sure that you make room for me to work. And I said that at the conference in April. All the while not knowing that the Lord had been speaking to Andrew already and preparing away. And um, One month from the day that I told the Kingdom at Work group, Andrew came to the Lord in Europe.
And it was, it’s just been the biggest miracle in our lives. And it’s changed everything.
All because of business. I wanted to make sure that their people knew about God. You know, uh, I don’t work at Beatonville. I, I don’t work at Edenville. That, that’s what you need to know. Um, I, my wife does. She’s worked there for 12 years now. But I haven’t worked there. But as a result of it, [00:04:00] that I am changed.
I grew up in a Mormon church first. Uh, my dad was Baptist. We lived overseas. I went to a Shiite mosque, a Sunni mosque. I went to Buddhist temples. That’s it. All my friends were different religions. You know, confusing that is confusing is all get out. And we would have conversations about which one was right, which one was wrong.
Uh, and most of what I witnessed most of the time was more religion than it was love. And that was the difference for me was that. The actions of the people, uh, at Beat’n Bowl was what really got me to the forefront. Because I’m like, there’s, there’s just no way that this is going to, I mean, some point, some point it’s going to break.
Never did. Never did. I think that even in my own work, In the last month, I have really tried to put forth the ideals that this place has set forward. And even then, you know, I work as a physical therapist, and so to see [00:05:00] the change in myself, just how I treat and approach patients, and listen to them, listen to their stories, and show genuine concern and care, I see better results.
I mean, that’s unbelievable. I keep asking the Lord, now what? Um, but we, our lives are forever changed. Um, the fruit of our lives, um, has so much to do with what God has done in the middle of a business, and so, if there’s ever a time that we’re passionate about Kingdom at Work, it’s right now, today.
