Stewardship: God’s Resources, Our Responsibility

“Stewardship” is defined as “the responsibility to protect and expand the resources of another.”
If we’re going to be good stewards, we need to understand the difference between stewardship and ownership.
The steward is not the owner. So, who’s the owner? God! He is very clear throughout scripture that He owns everything in His creation.
Grasping the concept that you own nothing and God owns everything will take your stewardship to the next level.
So, what do you steward? Let’s divide everything into three parts: your time, talent and treasure.
Time
Are we stewarding the time God has given us with a healthy balance?
Talent
To whom much is given, much is required. Luke 12:48
How are you stewarding your giftings and strengths?
Treasure
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Matthew 6:19-21
Think about your relationships, home, property, health, resources and money. How is the Lord asking you to steward these things?
As you think about your stewardship in all of these areas, what is the Lord saying to you?
