ell I probably will be crying too because that you know Cal said we all just cry up here that’s what we do um
yeah that I’m glad that Carrie says that because I was like this thing is dead in the water this interview I thought well
okay he’s on the leadership team this is over right it’s been almost 18 years
this month it’ll be 18 years ago that I stepped through the doors of beaten bow homes and so yes I am Gina that is not a
traditional spelling of Gina as you’ve probably witnessed my mom is actually
full-blooded Italian and if you know Italians there’s
probably some stereotypes that you immediately think of but I um my mom my
grandmother that she lived outside of San Francisco California and we would go visit her every year and I want to kind
of give you a snapshot through a video of what that was like n now I can’t eat your food today
because I need to lose weight for the wedding that’s no good you lose weight after you look at a witch like a witch
yes that’s no good okay like that it’s beautiful you really beautiful girl but I won’t yes you’re beautiful for me
you’re beautiful no now I can’t eat your food today because I need to lose weight for the wedding that is so a lot of
Italians when they came to the US they changed it from Nona to Nana and that looks looks just like my
grandmother’s kitchen I swear that’s the apron that she would wear and my mom is
now Nana to our family and even just yesterday with my kids she was watching
them last night while we were here and she’s like they just don’t eat those boys they just don’t eat enough they
just you know constantly that is food is a love language in an Italian family
right there are probably some things that you think of when you think of Italians they’re loud they’re opinionated I mean that that grandmother
said you look like a witch you know that’s how this goes for real in an
Italian family you know it’s a strong culture and it’s still going on right
now with my mom that is the power that cultures can have and every workpl has a
culture right it’s that collection of your beliefs your values your Traditions
even a language at beatbo we have a language I never realized that until I
would say things to people people and they look at me like I was crazy I’m like yeah but don’t we all talk isn’t that how we all talk no it’s it’s our
own language and culture is so so powerful because if you’re going to
spend a significant amount of time at work which people do then of course it
would have a profound impact on who you are and who you can become it’s not
something that we should take lightly my talk is really kind of a culmination of so so many things that you’ve heard
throughout the week but it is really about the power of culture and how God
he if you’ll just let him the intersection if you’ll just let him come in watch what can happen but in the
Kingdom we like to contrast what goes on in the world versus the kingdom the world values things right like money
we’ve talked about it power Prestige busyness busyness right now Harvard
Business Review last year it was on the cover of their magazine this culture of busyness it’s become an idol actually
and then people believe that the busier they are then the more valuable they are that’s not true in the world you know
it’s it’s competition competition you know kill the competition that’s how it goes that’s not how it is in the Kingdom
the kingdom values things like love peace patience kindness goodness
faithfulness gentleness selfcontrol does that sound like what most people
experience it’s not but man the kingdom seeks to do
the best for the people individually and collectively and that is what we believe
it takes the focus off self and it seeks the flourishing of all and we have been
witness to that really I’m just up here I’m a witness to talk to you about the character of God and what he has done
but a flourishing to us is really kind of Representative of this word Shalom this peace it meant it meant the
well-being being of everyone and if you’re in business it’s the people that are in your sphere of influence what is
the well-being of everyone look like and for us we often times talk about our
culture like it’s a garden and I just don’t know a better picture of a garden than the one that’s right back here this
one right here that is what a thriving Garden looks like that is this to me is
a picture of a kingdom culture everything has its spot everything has has its place there are different plants
and flowers there even rocks you know in the Kingdom there’s an order to things everything has a role and a purpose and
that’s exactly how that is and then it can become this beautiful beautiful thing what’s fascinating is that
Garden is surrounded by something a little bit different wow look at
everything around it isn’t that beautiful all that gray and brown around
it uh we have people all the time go I always wondered what was back here I mean it’s attractive the kingdom is
attractive to people it’s different it is refreshing thing in the middle of the
desert Brad said that earlier that’s what this is like that’s what the culture can be like for people that
thing sits in contrast to everything that surrounds it it is beautiful and fruitful right in the middle of a mess
isn’t that hope for all of us that we can be that in the middle of a world that is just big get
messy and this can happen right where you live and work if you’ll let it but first I want to kind of introduce you
and tell a story about our family so this is the roach family these are our most recent photos man now kids can’t
even be in front of me anymore they’re all getting so tall and so uh Andrew is in the back the very tall one the rest
of us that are kind of the same height um our daughter Olivia is 13 our son Liam is about to be 12 um so he’s on the
left of the screen there and then our little one Colin is about to be 10 and he he tells everyone he’s the he’s the
Italian in the family he also has Riz whatever that means he’s constantly
talking about Riz okay that kid and we we love these people I really thought I
was like I really only like kids till they’re about five this is going to be a problem since most of their life they’re going to be older than five and we are
loving every season with them but have you ever really loved someone and just
not liked them at all some days because I have to tell you that is how Andrew and I are and we
are constantly I mean I could tell you with each child too some of the things that we’re constantly coaching on and
the frustrations like when we found out last night there’s a big science test and the group me with moms is blowing up
all yesterday while I’m here because everybody’s nervous and our son at 9:00 p.m. is like uh science
test okay so what we recognize is we’re constantly talking to them about some of the same things like taking respons
responsibility not placing blame on others and picking that up ourself or
maybe if you’re in our home and we say if you can’t be kind they all know be
quiet and that’s because these are things that we found out were like frustrating Andrew and I they were
important to us we actually valued them but we realized we had never clearly
kind of defined what we valued to them and so we sat down and we said what are those things that are important to us as
a couple and in our family and we started to find them and here’s where we landed we said’ in this home we are kind
we take responsibility we serve others we laugh and we try new things see these are
actually kind of a culmination of values that Andrew and I have brought together we’re kind of the senior leadership team
in our home right that’s how this goes and so we Define these because we thought it’s not fair that they don’t
understand our expectations and how we’re going to operate right because we never defined them so first we had to
clarify for ourselves what is truly important to us and I imagine if you did this they would be different in your
family than what they are for us but you need to do this for your organization you need to develop your
house rules or your core values in your organization and we are we’re going to
talk about defining them defending them and celebrating them but this is something that really starts with the
most senior leader is something these are things that have organically built up over time Andrew and I didn’t go make
those up try new things is something that Andrew brought to our relationship he grew up overseas and so that was kind of a
lifestyle that he brought to me and that’s how this should work in your group it’s something that is already
there you have a culture you just got to Define it for people so Define your
house rules organizations without these things without you know this clear
definition of how we’re going to act uh they can cause a lot of confusion for
people and oftentimes what I find is that if you haven’t clearly defined your culture there’s so much ambiguity that
goes on and it causes confusion then nobody knows how to operate and you know when we don’t know what’s expected of us
that causes a lot of fear and anxiety so we do this for one another but we need
to understand how are we going to work together as we move forward in this Mission there are things that are unique
to you all they should always be finalized by the senior leadership group at beaten boo homes when we developed
our core values um Cal and I got to be a part of that I think Casey was there we
got to say hey what do we believe our culture is like what are words that would define it and the senior
leadership team listened and then they went off and they made the decision that’s how this goes we had a voice
again right but not a vote and that’s how that happened that group went and made that decision we limited our number
of values I think I saw not long ago that like Dave Ramsey at Ramsey solutions they have like 13 core values
that stresses me out a little bit because honestly it seems like that could some of those could conflict that
could be challenging to try to live up to those things I mean for our family I always think taking responsibility y’all
by itself is challenging for adults okay and then serve others you know doing
those five things on any day is hard enough to add eight more what happens is they ultimately become valueless you
have to get to what is most important important to you in your organization you know and if everything is important
then nothing is important so you have to be honest with yourself there so limit
the number and then test them against people in your organization we did this we said hey who are the people that are
super successful here and is this true do they have these core values in them do we see them in them and then we had
the group that we separated with and we said hey if we took this list would it be did we part with them because of one
of these things and and it was true for all four and so that’s how that went and then what
happened is as we were looking at both lists we saw something that was really interesting there were Christians on
both lists because Christian is not equal a culture Rick would always say Christian
is a person it’s not a Christian culture actually that’s not the expectation
that’s number one that’s exclusive we don’t want to be exclusive we want to be quite the opposite actually actually so
anybody can join our Organization no matter where they are in their faith Journey we don’t want number one it’s
it’s illegal to do that by the way so you shouldn’t but actually Jesus would never do that and I personally would not
be standing on this stage if that was the case my life has changed forever because
I got to enter this organ I came for a job and found so much more but you need to use words that
connect with Christ but that are not overtly Christian you know we don’t want to get in this holy huddle and if beatbo
has a language well we know there’s Christian e right when we first started with these core values actually one of
the words was faithful stewardship and I mean faithful and stewardship those are kind of Christian
words we were struggling for a long time and actually ended up becoming generosity in our culture and then later
generous stewardship but they should be things that honor God if it is a Christian culture then should be that
but anybody could be able to plug in to that Excellence is a kingdom thing I can get behind Excellence I don’t have to
have a strong faith or believe in God but I can be excellent in my work so you’ve Define them but then you
have to defend them there’s a lot of work that goes in here you have to get these things off the- wall and into
daily conversations with people at beaten boo companies we review we
celebrate right we separate based on these things this is how people even come and go in the organization and it’s
so important that you know them you know Casey said um earlier that the kingdom you know is like a family but this isn’t
the kingdom beaten B companies is not the kingdom it is a business it it truly
is and so I don’t want to ignore that because in a business there are conditions to working here we are not a
family we are a team I have to make the team
I have been called to account before and I had to make some changes so I could still earn my spot on the team and so we
but we start the conversation with people even in the interview process we start it early you know and then as we
continue on just like Jesus did we just teach and walk them out together but
it’s not about having these core values on the wall and then everybody can just recite them we want people to recall
them but we want them actually to understand what does it look like actually for Unity to play out in a business how
does that go and we say well that means you you can disagree but once a decision is made you have to
commit and so that’s how we make them operationally real to the people that we
lead and then we hold them accountable to what is core we explain a way how
this can work actually in the middle of our operations uh these aren’t just things that we say but you should know
that anyone that is unwilling to commit to the house rules cannot stay in the house so one of the first questions that
we get is do y’all fire people we’re like yeah we do and that’s why I tell
you this isn’t the kingdom it’s why this movement is so important because you know um I was laughing earlier Andrew uh
people are always trying to get my husband to come work here and I’m like act with a sense of urgency I’m not
really sure that’s Andrew roach’s favorite uh value that we have here you
know and so it’s like would that be a good thing for him no but anyone unwilling to commit has to
go it’s the pruning part of a flourishing and the leader is the culture keeper right and so what that
means actually is you should be demonstrating these values every day
it’s when we see it see others doing it that we’re inspired to do it too we see the fruit of what that is like because
if these words point back to Christ then you’re actually just walking out your faith and action and people are watching you to
see how you’re going to handle it are you going to walk in unity are you going to and so when you’re defending it it’s
really up to us to kind of carry that Banner alongside of us because I always
use the example that respect Integrity communication and Excellence are really
worthy values until you learn that they were the core values for Enron do they mean much do you think
they demonstrated those really well they lied about their profits for like 15 consecutive Quarters at business so
we have to model them to the people around us and we have to celebrate what
is core that’s the best way for this to go I’ll never forget Rick beatbo would say Gina go look for what’s going right
that is the best way to multiply all of the behaviors and the core values that you want in your organization because
what’s celebrated is repeated we do this in so many big and small ways in our organization but we
host an all compan meeting and we always have kind of a culture envp so it’s like
throughout the year people are nominating their peers with stories of how they actually live out our core
values and then we have a group that comes together and they decide the MVP for that time and we we’re try to be
real generous with our gift for that because we want to celebrate it and by putting it on a stage with the story
people can understand what it looks like to live this out Define them defend them and go and
celebrate what is core but a kingdom culture also is constantly working towards that word
Shalom a flourishing for all and I think most of the time probably when we think
of Shalom we say what is Shalom we think of the word peace but Shalom is so much more than
the absence of conflict or Strife it’s more more than Serenity or just your
ultimate happiness you know and in the Hebrew language it refers to
peacefulness but it also means wholeness and safety and completeness it actually
speaks to the well-being or the flourishing of everyone Tim Keller in his book generous
Justice wrote this quote he says it shalom means complete reconciliation a
state of the fullest flourishing in every dimension physical emotional social and spiritual
because all relationships are right perfect and filled with joy doesn’t that sound like a culture you want to be a
part of it can happen here it’s this holistic approach to the well-being of those in
our sphere and it’s not just your people it’s your customers it’s your partners
it’s your community you know are you a blessing to all of those people and how does that play out call and I were
talking about this because is over our time here this is just how we think we don’t ever go is this best for us that’s
not where we start with conversations and he was telling me a story about our Amarillo team and how they were doing
their strategic planning for how many closings how many homes would they close next year and they started having this
conversation about right now they do a home a day five starts a week that’s how we put it really clearly and they
started looking at that and they were going to have less communities to build bu in which means our inventory gets a
little bit tighter on what customers would want they had some concerns on could they keep up that pace throughout
the year and so were they going to have to back down in some cases to four starts a week and then go back up and so
if you’re doing four in one week and five in another week then you’re at four and a half starts a week and that seems
small until you’re the trade partner on the other end of it and it’s this little Herky jerky effect that we do to them
and you know one start over four is a 25% increase in production it is not a tiny thing to do although that one seems
like that and so they were talking and they thought okay what would it take how
much could we discount the homes in order to continue at five starts a week
even if we’re in one neighborhood and they came up with a number they thought okay what if it was like $20,000 $25,000
what what would we do it and so the customer wins and that case because they get a discount right so more homes our
trade Partners get to continue working at a very steady pace which is so important for them and then Cal said if
we did that how would it affect our profit would it would it stay the same like what what is that dollar amount
that we could still keep the same amount of profit and so they found that number
it was $155,000 I believe I saw in the notes and so they could Discount Homes up to
$115,000 and they believe a two out of three chance they could still have five homes a week that they are selling and
closing Five homes a week and so the customer wins the trade partner wins and
it doesn’t impact us we we don’t get any less it’s not that we made less profit but we’re also not saying that we’re
going to make more profit but all of a sudden it’s the flourishing for all in that and that’s how we look at it and as
we seek Shalom and our businesses then we need to understand that our work is for the benefit of others if if you’ve heard any throughout
this I hope you’ve heard that we have to set aside our pride and pursue humility and take the low
place and that our job here on Earth really is that the kingdom is present
you know that we’re to take back territory we’re trying to reconcile things right in every sphere of
influence that we have and this is a Now message it’s not a to come message you know that that’s not how it goes it’s
May your kingdom come you know your will be done on here on Earth as it is in heaven that is what
we are trying to do and we can do that in the middle of our businesses and bring about the flourishing for
everyone but we’re going to have to care for those that are in our care and the
Golden Rule rules here that’s how I think about it do unto others as you would have them do unto you that’s
really where it all begins and it might mean that in some cases you have to
sacrifice things I was thinking with our customers there’s so many times that we’ve thought about this but we’ll go if
the customer was in the room would they agree with the decision that we just made not long ago Cal and his team
actually learned about the fact that in Amarillo we hadn’t put starter shingles
on quite a few homes and we were having warranty issues you know leaks roof issues for people which are major and if
you’ve ever had a roof problem you know they’re expensive too and so they found out that this had been happening with
the with a trade part that no long trade partner that no longer works for us and so so they went back the team went and
inspected all the homes that they could found all of the homes that didn’t have it came back to beaten B Homes and they
had a decision to make what are we going to do Cal brought it to the board hey how do we want to go about this it’s X
number of homes it could cost this much money and then it was like well okay if
we lived in that what would we want someone to do you know what okay if my mom if my 82-year-old mom lived in that
home what would we hope that that home Builder would do and we would hope that
they would go fix it and so that’s what Cal and his team did they proactively went to every single one that they could
probably get a hold of and did that and I looked at the math this morning and it was $1.5
Million that they proactively went and did for the customer these are the kind
of things that we look at when we go what does it look like for the flourishing of all and not just us now at the same time it’s not always about
the customer either I actually don’t think the customers always always right I mean are you always right then how can
the customer always be right you know and so it can’t be just about the customer either you know that is the
flourishing for all trade Partners I always think of are we a trusted partner
you know do they believe that when they’re not in the room that we have their best interest in mind and my
friend Cory L you’ve probably heard from you know this week he would always go and sit with trade partners and work
through their costs and say hey is this a fair profit you know sit down with them and look at it because we have a
lot of Trades that are really good at their job but they weren’t business majors how would they know how to do
this you know and so our team might go and sit down with them to help them and it’s not we’re trying to get the best
it’s like together we want to see the best interest for everyone customer wins trade partner wins we
win but of course you do have the most influence with your employees you can they’re in your house
so since you make the rules then you can decide a lot of things within those four
walls and if you are trying to bring Shalom into every Dimension well man
there are so many layers to that you know that God might be calling you to the physical and health one I’ve thought
about that one so much you know in the in the past years especially our you
know CEO former CEO and co-founder Rick he had a severely aggressive form of
pancreatic cancer you know and and he started getting this wisdom about how
God provides and can heal us through the food that he gave us and so what does he do he doesn’t just take that for himself
he creates a wellness Initiative for our whole organization and people are reversing diabetes within our
group wow that’s what a flourishing can look like in your organization when I
first started here in 2006 then in 2007 I found out pretty quickly I needed to
have a Sur surgery but Andrew and I we were about to get married in a month and I didn’t have much money I actually
didn’t have enough to make the deductible and I was just talking to my friend that worked in the company and just crying going I don’t know what
we’re supposed to do like we’ve literally used all of our money for this wedding the next day I had the cash that
I needed $500 to complete my deductible from a guardian angel in this
organization and although they’ve never told me their name I know it was Holly beatbo because that’s just who she is
and how and the first time I said it she laughed and she was like oh my gosh but man she cared about that you
know we even had employees recently in in our beaten Bo connect talking to us about past environments and um how hard
it was on them even in their mental health you know mental health and so we’re trying to find ways on how can we
have the flourishing for everyone right now right we’re in this world where people find themselves more
alone than ever it’s this message in you know the world of Independence that
separates you the kingdom is about interdependence actually and so that’s
what’s happening and so we go well okay if that’s the kingdom thing then how do we make that happen in our organization
and I have to tell you we just find excuses to connect we clearly we love coffee so we
started a cafe you can always connect in the cafe that we have but we just find ways to do that you know we have
Regional events we do Friday lunches for our employees you know we just try to
find ways throughout the week to connect and then even outside of that I feel
like the board like most of us could finish each other’s sentences because we’ve spent so much time together
there’s a community that’s here that is so so powerful the world tells you things like
rest is for the week right Casey had on socks the other day that said rise and grind you know they had coffee on them
and it’s like you know hustle harder you see all of those things and that is a message you know that is out there but
but the kingdom talks about rest we’re supposed to have rest in the
kingdom and so when you’re in a business you go okay but there are goals and there are things that have to happen so
what do we do how do how does this work and I’ll never forget uh when I first took over the sales team at that time
they were we were closed on Sundays but then the sales team member got one day off in the middle of the week so they might get a Tuesday or Wednesday so you
got a Sunday and then a Tuesday or a Wednesday and I did that one time I took off a Wednesday and thought I’m going to see
what that’s like and you know what it’s like it’s like you have a Friday and a Sunday all of a sudden you know you’re
trying to wind down on your Friday and then the next day like your Wednesday that’s a rest day you’re just prepping
for the next day you actually didn’t get any rest and so we went and figured out
a way that they could have two days how could we get two days in a row Our Cafe is open seven days a week it’s the same
thing how can we get two days of rest for them it’s not about on a Sunday it’s
how can we help them have rhythms of rest so that they can be the best
version that they can be healthy and flourishing in every area of their life
those are just some of the ways I know that God can reveal ways that he wants to do it wherever you’re at but he wants
us he wants that Shalom and that peace for his people and then I would be remiss not to just tell you about what
it’s like in the kingdom is about love and I want to introduce you this is my friend Ron this is why the tissue is up
here um this this was Ron’s saying sorry we
lost him one month ago so we’ve had a rough year um but he always said love is
a secret sauce and he just wasn’t lying that is a Hallmark in the Kingdom love
is a thing Holly talked about it right in Romans really love one
another it’s a h hint it’s like when people don’t know what they don’t know what they’re experiencing here it’s it’s
love it is love that shows up here this god- centered culture versus a
self-centered culture means that the leaders focus on loving God and loving others simple as
that really it’s just not that much more complicated and so practically in the
marketplace right that might mean that it’s collaboration versus competition
you know it’s you care about the worker more than the work like Micah and his
team mentioned you know it seeks out ways to honor support to build up and I have to tell you that is exactly what
happened to me Ron became like a dad to me I had a late in life um I’m a late in
life child so I have three siblings they are 12 14 and 15 years older than I am
and I often uh capture it with my Dad loved running around with women way more than he loved running around with me in
the backyard he was always busy with things he shouldn’t be busy with and he
was really angry I mean I remember you could just say one thing and it would just like light of wildfire in him and
you know in a teenage girl with an Italian Mom you can only imagine some of the things that came out of my mouth
that got me in trouble but he would just be so angry and so I actually don’t have very many
good memories of him at all like right now in my head I can’t think of one he I remember when the first my
first and Young youngest memory is of him holding up my oldest sister by her throat because she was interested in
dating a guy that he disagreed with something similar happened to me where he came in and he just kicked me in my
ribs well I was just in my bedroom and had no idea and so that that’s that’s
who walked in these doors just looking for a job just looking for a job and the first
person that greeted me was that man right at the front door he knew my name
I will never forget he was there he hugged me I didn’t know who he was he just said he was Ron he hugs me and then he proceeds to
tell me that uh they had read out loud in the all company meeting a creative writing sample that I had submitted for
part of my job simulation and I’m like well that’s great and then I’m like that guy Ron is just so nice and they’re like
Ron beatbo and I’m like oh my word that was Ron beaten bow okay you know but man
I just I I really didn’t know what a loving father looked like until I met
Ron he was so different he just there was just this little love connection that we had that I wish I could explain
but it was just the sweetest thing you know over time he would just do so many
small things for me he would go on vacation and bring back stuff for my kids you know he would always ask me
about myself he would always encourage me in my gifting we were kind of little grammar nerds together you know people
people know I love to read and Ron love grammar and punctuation we nerded out on this kind of stuff together he’s funny
he had Ron’s witty Wednesday and so we would just tell on liners and laugh together he was just there you know he
loved me so much now he also corrected me because if you love your kids that’s
what you’ll do but one time all of a sudden we had bought our home a beaten bow home of course and we’re moving in
and he wanted to come tore it you know and so he has my three-year-old daughter at the time giving a giving him a tour
of our home and then Connie’s like I want to help you unpack your kitchen this is his wife and I’m like Connie
beatbo is not unpacking my kitchen no I would never have that well guess who
guess who unpacked my kitchen she wasn’t taking no for an answer because that’s what love does
right it just shows up it’s there and Ron was the sweetest thing to me he has
always just loved God and loved others and I am one story of how that goes on
and plays out here you know even Rick and Ron and and Holly and so many leaders here right now we have an ESOP
our retirement plan Employee Stock ownership plan y’all these people have been so generous that last year before
Rick got really sick he had decided that he wanted to stop receiving
stock in the organization so that the rest of the organization could benefit from it he didn’t want anymore that love
that is sacrificial love he was even he was so frustrated because his stock his
percentage had increased and he’s like how did that happen he was so mad and we
found out it was from forfeiture so then he figured out a way to not do that because really he just cared about
everyone the flourishing of everyone not just him what a beautiful example but
really it was just Faith expressed in love love however you show that that means different things to different
people but I’ll tell you for Ron it was these many many moments that happened
with us small things when he showed up Holly and kri same thing they one year
we had our Christmas open house lots of kids come in our communities and sit on Santa and Mrs Claus’s lap to take photos
with Santa hundreds of them that seems like a fun job until you sit there for 3
hours and you have to smile that long cuz they can tell in the pictures Carrie if you’re not smiling with your
eyes and uh I missed it one year it was my first year I was ever going to miss that and it’s because our son Liam was
born on the day of the Christmas open house and as we were like getting ready all the family had left we heard a knock
knock knock on the door and there are Santa and Mrs Claus dressed up at Covenant Hospital here in leic so that
Liam can have his first photo with Santa these are the people that I work with these are the people I worked
for they cared about that just as much for me as I did as my family
did man you can love the people you work with I somebody the other day said you
know I don’t know if I’ve ever told someone that I loved them I think Vernon on his video I can’t remember the last time I had an encounter with an employee
here I didn’t tell him I love him and it’s genuine love is a secret sauce and it’s
your faith expressed in love that can change life lives and so here I come this young girl broken and hurting I
join this organization meet these people who I just can’t understand the kind of care and love that they’re giving me and
my husband who grew up in the Middle East and has seen some heinous things over there wants no part of Faith no
part of religion is as skeptical as anyone can be is watching me walk this
journey and so I want you just to hear a little bit about his story and then there’s Andrew my husband my kindest
person you’ll meet zero judgment loves every person he meets but does not
believe in God husband but he cannot ignore the way he
has been loved on cared for prayed on and prayed over and he goes to church
with me every Sunday he actually serves at our church every
Sunday he’s actually in a small group God is doing something God gave me
a vision when Olivia was a baby that they would be baptized together and I hold on to that he still doesn’t know that so don’t tell
him but I know that God’s promises are always yes and amen and so I know that
and one day I tell you that so one day you’ll see on video him standing here maybe giving his testimony about how the
spouse was impacted by this culture and came to
Christ one month to the day Andrew came to the Lord in Europe and it was it’s
just been the biggest miracle in our lives and it’s changed everything I grew up in a Mormon church
first uh my dad was Baptist we live overas I went to a shi mosque a Sunni
mosque I went to Buddhist temples all my friends were different religions you know how confusing that is most of the
time I always Tau to act frequently this is the way you’re supposed to believe
whether it was Christian whether it was Buddhist or Muslim didn’t matter most of what I witnessed most of the time was
more religion than it was love and I was never talked at here and that’s a big
deal I think you know now I feel like I’m the person I’m supposed to be versus
when I was them I let all this other stuff get in my head that shouldn’t have been there you know u i don’t work at
beatbo I I don’t work at beatbo that that’s what you need to know
um I haven’t worked there but as a result of it that I I am
changed just never gets old and so if you were in the hearing from God session with him this morning you were
witnessing a miracle 12 years of prayer with many of my friends that are here
constant prayer for him you know Andrew is precious to me he
is not a project your people are not Projects please don’t go back and try to
like baptize them or force them to do things like but they are precious to God and
they matter and so the way that you love and care for your people can forever
impact them eternally our family has changed because of this place you know I
never felt like a project to Ron felt like a daughter you know what a treat to
have that kind of love and to get it in the middle of your workplace people these were my
bosses you know God gosh it can happen it can be the sweetest thing and then
all of a sudden guess what that Vision it did it came to life and my and Olivia and Andrew here
they are you know baptized together and then just last year Andrew got to baptize both of our
boys in the way that they desired one of them is an introvert he wanted it in the pool one of them is an extrovert you
know the one with Riz he needed to have it with 200 people at the Texas Tech wck
pool but man it’s just this is Generations are impacted That’s The Power of culture you know we still have
so many things that we do in our family because of our Italian culture it’s can be the same in a kingdom culture it has
a ripple effect in this last quote is from The Institute of faith and work in economics they put it so well we believe
when Christians live holistic lives and integrate faith and work using all the tools that God has given us including
economics they are re weaving Shalom this results in the flourishing of both
the community and the individuals and I have to tell you I’m a witness to that here it’s our story
because there’s a point where that Shalom it just spills out from you w and on to everything around you that’s what it was with Ron when I go why are they
doing this why would he think of me then why would they do why would they show up when they’re exhausted dressed as Santa
and Mrs Claus and do that and they always pointed to God
always and so I went from this broken and hurting little girl who arrived here
to someone soaking in this Kingdom culture who started then seeking the one that brings the
Shalom everything changed because Shalom isn’t about the absence of anything but
it is a pre it’s about the presence of someone the one the king that’s what
we’ve been talking about all week and so why wouldn’t you do this in your
business could you just let love begin to manifest could you define what it’s
like for people because that’s caring for them but I just want to charge you
with going back and bringing and cultivating that kind of culture right
where you are at let me pray for you father wow we just thank you Father for
who you are for that your love it’s through your love that we can love
others and that it spills out to everything that’s around
us would that just be our story father Generations would be impacted by the
leaders that are in here that love would be the secret sauce of every single
business that’s represented here father we thank you that you care for us that you love us and we want to
be rooted and grounded in that kind of love thank you for who you are God I
thank you for Ron and Rick and for this the foundation where they just brought you here to this place and all of us
here are standing up in our call because of two men who
gave so selflessly and wow what can the power of one Kingdom leader do God we pray
transformation upon transformation in Jesus name amen
