Where Do You Find Your Identity?

Kingdom At Work

Do you find your identity in what you do? Perhaps the business you’ve built? The title you bear? Or the people you lead?

We live in a culture that glorifies personal success, but an identity rooted in what a leader does, who they lead, or the product they produce is unpredictable.

This is why spiritual identity IS important.

A Kingdom leader must receive their identity from God, and God alone.

In God’s Kingdom, our identity is clear. Ephesians 2:10, Psalm 139:14-16 and Luke 12:7 will tell you we are His workmanship, fully known, and more valuable than many sparrows.

When understanding the importance of our spiritual identity, ask yourselves these questions:

  1. Who do you believe you are?
  2. Who do you believe God is?
  3. Who or what are you allowing to define you?
  4. Are you listening to the world’s voice or God’s voice?

Now, let’s think about the people God has entrusted to us.

When we are agreeing with who God says we are, we can extend that invitation to the people we lead and invite them to discover their identity and walk freely in that. When we invite them to be fully themselves and bring all that they are to the table – get ready for your business to explode!

Watch this Kingdom at Work film to see how the Lord met Bo Dunagin, CEO of Dunagin Transport in his darkest moment. As Bo surrendered his identity to God, it not only transformed his life and family, but it resulted in a leadership style that freed the people within his business to become all that God was calling them to be.
