Kingdom At Work
As a business leader, it’s easy to focus on the what—the products you sell, the services you provide, and the profits you generate. But what if the true driving force behind your business wasn’t just about what you do, but why you do it?
A clear sense of purpose not only guides your decisions but transforms your business into something far greater than a profit-making entity. When your business has a Kingdom-driven purpose, you don’t just create value in the marketplace—you impact lives, honor God, and advance His Kingdom.
Here are 3 actions to take as you reflect on your purpose in business:
1. Revisit Your Why
Does your business’s purpose align with God’s Kingdom priorities? Is it focused on more than just profit or selling products? Take time to revisit the core reason your company exists. Ensure that your purpose goes beyond just making money to making an eternal impact. A purpose-driven business brings fulfillment not only to you but to your team and the communities and people you serve.
2. Engage Your Team
Engage your leadership team in defining or refining your purpose. While you remain the decision-maker, inviting others into the conversation ensures that your purpose reflects the collective Kingdom values and vision of your team. Purpose-driven businesses thrive when they seek God’s direction together, and this process clarifies your mission and strengthens your company culture.
3. Let Your Purpose Be Present
Ensure that your day-to-day decisions are guided by your business’s purpose. Ask yourself: Does this choice reflect the Kingdom values we want to live out in our company? When your decisions align with your purpose, everything you do contributes to the larger vision of serving God’s people and advancing His Kingdom.
Remember: Purpose Matters
In a Kingdom business, the ultimate goal is to glorify God and serve His people through your work. Profit and growth are byproducts of pursuing purpose. Have you ever asked God why He entrusted you with your business? If your business exists for His glory and to advance His Kingdom, then everything you do—from the decisions you make to the culture you cultivate—should reflect that.
