Kingdom At Work

It is important to be reminded that God created everything including your people, and He loves them very much! He has entrusted you with a spiritual calling to love them as Christ loves them. As a leader, the Lord has placed a mantle on your shoulders and has entrusted you with real, spiritual authority to develop the people around you for better or for worse. That thought may make you nervous, but it is true! All leadership is spiritual, it is just a matter of what spirit is leading you.
It is your responsibility to ensure the spirit leading you is God’s Spirit, also known as the Spirit of Truth.
Here is the point you should remember: if you are being led by the Spirit of Truth, the way you develop your people will be more developmental than judgmental.
God desires for His people to develop into all He created them to be… to reach their fullest potential! The maturity and effectiveness of your spiritual calling as a leader hinges on whether the people entrusted to you are becoming more of who God created them to be or not!
The judgmental leader says things like “You Can’t” or “You Aren’t” or “You Won’t” or “You Don’t.” Because our words have power to either tear down or build up, these types of words will inevitably lend them to becoming less of who they were created to be.
Use your God-given spiritual authority to build your people up. A developmental leader says things like this:
- You can if you will _______
- What is in your way?
- How can I help you?
- Let’s go do this together!
- What do you need?
Is your leadership more developmental or judgmental in nature? Be honest with yourself and repent of the ways you’ve partnered with the wrong spirit in leading your people. Then choose to make a change.
